Being born and raised on kipawa lake and knowing the Douglas family for the last 10 years, I truly know that they are some of the nicest, hard working people I know. They do an amazing job at constantly renovating cabins and making sure everything is in good running order for the guests. I would recommend Alwaki to anybody looking for a beautiful summer getaway. Alwaki lodge will always be a home away from home for me. Thanks guys for everything you've done for me in the last 10 years.

Actually stayed last July 2015, then as I just booked a week for this year I remembered I didn't write a review. This was a return trip to Lake Kipawa after last coming up the year after my father passed in 1994. As a kid this was our yearly pilgrimage and back then we stayed in what used to be known as Turtle Camp. I always told stories to my son about those trips and I was delighted when he said he wanted to go this year. Then realization set it in and donned on me now I need to do some research after being away for 21 years and also I better do some maintenance on my 38 year old boat. I choose to stay at Alwaki since it was close to the area I knew the old Turtle Camp had been sold and I was glad I did. What a difference, not that there was ever anything wrong with where we previously stayed but I was impressed right from the start. The cleanliness, overall upkeep of the cabins, friendliness and just a good natured attitude from our hosts was in evidence from the time we arrived till we left. Rob and Brian were very helpful with fishing tips, and questions I am sure they have heard a million times over but they never minded answering. These are folks who you can tell they truly enjoy what they do and will make you feel right at home. I wouldn't consider staying anywhere else.

The Pay Boys 2013 TripThis is a very special trip for the three brothers Dave,Jeff and Greg Pay. Our Father Ron Pay introduced us all to Lake Kipawa in our early childhood years. The Lake has always been dear to Greg and Jeff (who worked on the lake after graduating high school) but our brother Dave has kept it alive in Dads memory as he continues to come up every year.
Thank you Alwaki

We went to the Lodge this spring.  We absolutely loved it!!  The kids had a great time and I did too.  It is a great place to escape all the stress of work and life in general.  Heard so much about it from a former colleague that I had to go check it out for myself.  I enjoyed every single minute of the time spent over at the lodge.  I felt so much at home that I even made brownies while I was there.  Thanks for you hospitality!

I can’t imagine ever going anyplace else. Great accommodations; great equipment; continuous cabin improvements; accommodating hosts; perfect position on the lake. If you’re going up to Lake Kipawa for the first time you would be cheating yourself if you did not give Alwaki a call. Fishing:Nothing too huge, but a few nice 21”-22” walleyes, several 18”-20”, solid numbers for 15”-17”, silly numbers of 14”-16” walleyes. By the 2nd day two of us had over 130 walleye. Some nice pike too!

I just wanted to say how my summers at Alwaki Lodge have always been. I have been going since I was young with my Dad back when Carl and Mary had it. My last trip was in the summer of 2005 before my dad passed away. Alwaki Lodge will always be apart of my greatest memories, it was truly my Dad’s favorite place. I hope to come back with my children some day! Thank you for sharing your paradise!

The lake area is vast I don’t think I could ever fish it all!
Alwaki is the best in hospitality, friendship and accomodating your needs.
I’m looking forward to my 2 week stay late August and for the first time, my wife too!
This area is RELAXATION and being on the water. The fish are a BONUS!

It was the first time in 31 years married that my wife suggested to go fishing with me and I to pick the place. I had fished Kipawa many times before but not in this new area. Well with the complete help from Jeff and the gang—even though it rained everyday—the fishing was a blast and I even think it was slow for most—one of those years I guess. I would recommend this resort to anyone as the Hosts are great people and make your stay great. Thanks everyone and Jeff–

We had a great time last summer, the abundance of pikerel was unbeliveable and the fact that you could catch them up until noon was something to experience.  It was also  fascinating to see blue pikerel as well. The camp BBQ was great.  It is now early November and we can not wait to visit again next July/09 and this time try for lakers.

Thanks again

I would like to say thank-you for your assistance on the water the other day when you were heading to Subury to your son’s wedding.  I was the guy with the yellow coat that ran out of gas.  James sent one of his lads with gas and I wasn’t long in wait.  Thanks so much and I hope the wedding went well.  That was one expensive Grindstone walleye.  I made up for it the next day and caught a 31″ walleye the next morning.

Take care
